In case you missed the designer’s announcement on Instagram, Svitlana Bevza is pregnant with her third child. This good news meant that she had to take a break from her seasonal trips to New York to host appointments, but she had already become an expert at taking meetings and designing collections over Zoom since the start of the Ukraine war curtailed her trips back to her atelier in Kyiv. With motherhood on her mind, Bevza designed a collection that didn’t just look good but also fit comfortably.
The casual approach meant more relaxed styles than usual. Knitwear was a huge part of it, perfect for après ski season or pre-partum. Sweaters came in an assortment of different lengths from normal to long, with a mini dress style being one of Bevza’s favorite pieces: she decided to make it after finding it difficult to get dressed in the mornings. “I basically don’t really fit into my trousers anymore,” she said. “So I needed something to just wear with leggings.” The trousers from this collection that everyone else want to fit into their wardrobe came with elongated ties at each hip, so they can be worn in a multitude of ways, providing a look for any occasion.
