New York Fashion Week may have only wrapped this week, however, Kith is ready to get a jump start on resort. This season, it’s taking a slightly different approach: Creative director Ronnie Fieg invited Lisa from Blackpink to guest-design the new collection. “Working with Kith on this collection was such an incredible experience,” she said via email. “For me, fashion is a way to express myself, and I was really able to bring that to life through these pieces.”
It began with a moodboard of dualities, such as all-white co-ords and debossed black leather—a little white swan/black swan, if you will. “We fell in love with the concept of creating a gradient to embody the two sides of Lisa, starting with the white lace hopeless romantic looks and evolving into the black leather after dark looks,” shared Fieg.
One one hand, the daytime girl-next-door was represented by white logo-integrated lace looks, including a sheer tunic and oversized short-sleeve shirt. For evening, many pieces felt ready to hit the global stage, focusing on all-black cut-out and convertible garments including a negative space-effect bodysuit and a “six-in-one” leather jacket that could be worn as a vest, skirt, bomber—you name it. Throughout, ahletic waist bands and easy fabrics added to the overall dancerly feel. “I hope people who wear my collection can also feel confident and be able to express themselves too,” Lisa said.
