This year, Mercury is going to moonwalk three times in the sky. The planet of communication will be retrograde in the water signs of Pisces, Cancer, and Scorpio—in that exact order. As you may know, this is a moment when exes resurface, the past comes back to haunt us, misinformation is endless, and travel delays occur; however, it’s not all bad. With the occasional miscommunication and reactive responses, this astrological transit unfortunately receives a lot of negative attention, when essentially the planet Mercury is slowing down—and so should we. Swim to the calming tides and gently embrace the celestial vibes.
Mercury retrograde in Pisces commences on February 26 at 6:48 AM UTC and ends on March 20 at 8:33 PM UTC. The 23-day backwards journey asks us to reflect and celebrate the rhythms of the universe. Meditating on what brings joy and happiness to our lives is a wonderful way to harness the story that began on February 11, as Mercury entered the pre-retrograde zone.
“This is the prime opportunity for us to have space to be able to look back at what has happened throughout the last astrological year,” Gary D’Andre, spiritual consultant and author of Tarot for You and Me, explains. “We are closing up the final chapters of aspects of ourselves that are not allowed to come with us throughout this next journey around the Sun.”
Toning down external noise and being present are vital to our well-being. There will always be chaos around us, but we must be instrumental in not letting it affect us. People can bring on the theatrics; however, we don’t have to play with them.
“Mercury retrograde is about reflection, redirection, and reprioritization. There are plenty of positive experiences that come from navigating Mercury retrograde with intention. When unfulfilling cycles or past experiences reemerge, we can make new choices. It’s like a cosmic magnifying glass. We look at where we made mistakes the first time around, and get a second chance to rewrite the narrative in our favor,” says MaKayla McRae, astrologer and author of The Celestial Handbook.
Instead of fueling anxiety, Mercury retrograde asks us to examine what this period is actually useful for: slowing down, revisiting partnerships, renegotiating boundaries, and paying attention to patterns that repeat for a reason. Mercury retrograde as a moment of mindful interruption rather than collective hysteria. We’ll reimagine the phenomenon on March 7, from the “cazimi” connection between the Sun and Mercury retrograde that urges us to sing the tune of our own song and avoid conflict.
“Don’t forget, there are still about two weeks after it’s over that we allow ourselves to integrate, so don’t rush yourself. Enjoy the process and also know, you’re starting again,” D’Andre adds. This cycle, known as “retrograde” (a term I coined years ago), lasts from March 20 to April 9. The post-shadow period gives us a third go-around, allowing us to glow up and evolve.

This is your divine call from the universe to slow down. Even though you are used to running around at top speed, you’re finding that it is necessary to take a power nap once a day to keep up. Let yourself unwind, relax, and be at peace with your sentiments.
Taurus
Your core group of friends is centering their energy on humanitarian ventures. Since you have a warm demeanor and want to help others, use this opportunity to give back to the community. It’ll make your soul feel good knowing that you’re paying it forward and bettering the world with love.
Gemini
You are finding your ideal niche at work by realigning with a former professional aspiration. Think back to your objectives and reconnect with them to step into the ultimate concept. This quest allows you to find your ultimate purpose, which has been wanting to come to light for some time.
Cancer
Escape the mundane by invigorating your aura with a topic that has been interesting to you for some time. You may discover an enlightened version of yourself that encourages you to explore different facets of your life, expanding your knowledge and awareness. This is an awakening that shifts your perspective.
Leo
Your intuition is off-kilter. The reason is that missing information and others’ gaslighting are confusing your mind. Listen to what your impulses and instincts tell you. Even if you are questioning your reaction to matters, you can always rely on your heart’s feelings to guide you towards attaining clarity.
Virgo
Old ghosts offer promises to overcompensate for past issues. Consider this a time to gain understanding of the relationship. Closure can be cathartic, as long as you implement boundaries with them. You may even begin to appreciate them, as long as they take on a different role in your life.
Libra
The dog days are over, at least for the retrograde, which is great news. Instead of pushing yourself to the limit, you’ll regenerate balance and focus on what matters. The less you take on, the smoother your days are. The harmonious ebb and flow reinvigorates your body, mind, and spirit.
Scorpio
Your inner child is calling, reminding you of a creative theory or artistic dream that you formerly held. Ignite the force within and try to reimagine it. Now that you have life experience and are wiser, finding a novel approach inspires you to spark the vision and see it through.
Sagittarius
Relating to family members might be challenging. After a few minutes of awkward conversations, you’ll discover that connecting with your brood over a shared interest bonds you together. Once you dig beneath the surface and find a common ground, the dynamic has a positive impact that lasts beyond the retrograde.
Capricorn
Missed messages might set you back a little, but they won’t cause a wrinkle in your flow. It’ll be easy to get a handle on matters when you discover that patience is a virtue. The world can wait for a response until you back up your emails and texts.
Aquarius
Reassessing your spending to ensure you have a cushion for a rainy day won’t cause havoc. In fact, you are more apt to decline big purchases with the intention of building your bank account. But, if you need to buy an item beyond your budget, compare prices and shop around.
Pisces
This is a momentous time to resolve issues that have been plaguing you for the last few weeks. Since you usually don’t vocalize your emotional state, speaking up will benefit your relationships and how you feel internally. You’ll be able to express yourself freely and effectively, leading to amazing breakthroughs.
