Anne Hathaway is busy. With a slate of projects ranging from Mother Mary and The Devil Wears Prada 2 to Christopher Nolan’s adaptation of The Odyssey, audiences will be seeing the actor a lot on the big screen for the better part of 2026. Last weekend, she let us in on a little secret when it comes to red carpet glam.
Hathaway and hairstylist Orlando Pita shared a behind-the-scenes video posted on her Instagram, highlighting everything it took to get her Oscars-ready. (In case you missed it, she was named one of the best-dressed stars of the night, and she had a charming on-stage moment with none other than Vogue Global Editorial Director Anna Wintour.)
While creating Hathaway’s sleek half-up, half-down ‘do, Pita pulled a small section of hair near each of her temples and created a short braid—only about an inch long—secured them with an elastic, then pulled them to the back of her head.
“And you look a little bit more awake,” Hathaway said with a laugh, “That’s the trick.”
So, if you’re a little hesitant to go all-in on face tape, consider this OG-Hathaway-approved method the way to go.
