It’s happening—after countless years of endless speculation, The Devil Wears Prada sequel is well on its way, with Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci all strutting back to Runway exactly two decades later.
Joining them are the original film’s screenwriter, Aline Brosh McKenna, who has penned the next chapter, as well as its director, David Frankel, and producer, Wendy Finerman. The storyline will follow “Miranda Priestly as she navigates her career amid the decline of traditional magazine publishing and faces off against Blunt’s character, Emily Charlton, now a high-powered executive for a luxury group with advertising dollars that Priestly desperately needs.”

Meanwhile, there is a new “Mr. Priestly”—Kenneth Branagh—plus other cast newcomers, including Simone Ashley, Justin Theroux, Lucy Liu, Patrick Brammall, Pauline Chalamet, BJ Novak, comedian Caleb Hearon, and Broadway stars Helen J Shen and Conrad Ricamora. And as for a few more returning favorites? Tracie Thoms, a.k.a. Andy’s gallerist friend Lily, and Tibor Feldman, who played Elias-Clark chairman Irv Ravitz (“tiny man, huge ego”), will both be back—while Adrian Grenier’s Nate, thankfully, will not.
A few weeks before the release date, a new teaser has arrived, with fresh glimpses into Andy’s new work life with Miranda and Emily—as well as our first look at Simone Ashley as her Runway colleague. Watch in full below.
