Dydd Gŵyl Dewi Hapus! That’s “Happy Saint David’s Day” in the Welsh. Kate Middleton—Catherine, Princess of Wales—has been brushing up on her own grasp of the Celtic language just in time for the patron saint’s day.

Speaking from their Frogmore House on the Windsor Home Park estate, Prince William began in Welsh: “To everyone in Wales, a very Happy St David’s Day! It is a beautiful country, with a rich history and wonderful people.”
“Wales is very close to our hearts, and we look forward to every visit,” Catherine continued, also in Welsh. “Wishing you a day full of celebration with family and friends.”
For the all-smiles address, Catherine opted for a houndstooth pleated maxi dress by Alessandra Rich, with puffed sleeves, buttons, and a feminine collar. She accessorized with black Jennifer Chamandi suede pumps, a Mulberry black suede Bayswater clutch, and jewelry that included Cartier Trinity earrings, a Spells of Love double strand chain necklace, and Asprey London ‘woodland’ charms. A daffodil—the official flower of Wales—was pinned to her lapel.
She last wore the dress in 2021 on a visit to see the latest art exhibits V&A Museum, and often looks to Rich for her sophisticated silhouettes: she’s worn the Italian, London-based designer on a trip to Ireland, and previously on a 2019 trip to Bletchley Park. Her long brunette hair was worn long and loose down her back, and glam was kept minimal and elegant with a soft brown smoky eye.
