Last night, the 2026 Critics Choice Awards—took place at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California—kicking off what is sure to be an eventful awards season to come. The Critics Choice Awards have a history of seeing stars have fun with their looks: Compared to the Globes or Oscars, it has long been a decidedly lower-pressure awards show, meaning celebrities were more likely to experiment. Last year, for instance, stars like Nicole Kidman opted for sleek Saint Laurent suiting, while Michelle Yeoh made a statement in her sporty Balenciaga gown.
