Harris Reed has stepped down as creative director of Nina Ricci and will be turning his full attention to his namesake brand. A successor has not yet been named.
“I am leaving Nina Ricci with a heart full of gratitude and a profound appreciation for all that my time there has given me,” Reed said in a statement on Instagram. “My deepest thanks go to Puig and to the entire Nina Ricci team. Truly, to step into a heritage house that not only welcomed, but actively championed my imagination, has been an honor beyond words.”
Reed joined the Puig-owned house in 2022 as part of a cohort of young emerging designers with strong followings tapped by established labels. While many of these talents exited after six months to two years — including Ludovic de Saint Sernin (Ann Demeulemeester), Rhuigi Villaseñor (Bally), and Serhat Işık and Benjamin A Huseby (Trussardi) — Reed’s tenure endured.
During his time at Nina Ricci, Reed brought his flamboyant evening gowns and sculptural silhouettes to the brand. The designer’s final Nina Ricci show took place less than a week ago during Paris Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2026, inspired by Marie Antoinette going to Glastonbury.
“All of us at Nina Ricci and Puig would like to extend our warmest thanks to Harris Reed, who, since his arrival, has brought a breath of fresh air as well as an inspiring and inclusive perspective and exceptional creativity,” said Nina Ricci president Ana Trias in a statement. “Harris has written a beautiful chapter in the history of Nina Ricci.” The brand is now focusing on “redefining its next chapter, in line with its long-term strategy”, per the statement, with organizational updates to be shared in due course.
“When I first arrived at Nina Ricci, I was 26 years old, not long graduated, single, and finding my footing while learning how to stand confidently with an unconventional voice,” said Reed. “Today, I leave having learned and grown so much, and I am so excited to enter this next chapter of my life with my husband (and dog) beside me, in a home that I love, ready to take my own company into its next chapter.”
