Is that Anne Hathaway at The Devil Wears Prada 2 premiere in New York? Yeah. It is.
Hathaway and her stylist Erin Walsh have paid homage to her character Andy Sachs throughout the film’s globe-spanning press tour. At their kickoff in Mexico City, Hathaway’s thigh-high Stella McCartney boots called back to her makeover montage in the Runway closet; and in Tokyo, she updated Andy’s lumpy cerulean sweater with a fringed, off-the-shoulder knit from Sacai. Hathaway’s looks have even nodded to the new sequel’s fashion: elsewhere in Tokyo, she paired a ruffled Valentino couture dress with Rockstud heels, which Meryl Streep’s Miranda Priestly wore in the film’s first teaser to much discussion.
Tonight, the actor opted for a more straightforward reference. She graced the Lincoln Center red carpet in a devilish red dress. Custom Louis Vuitton by Nicolas Ghesquière, the tea-length dress was complete with a corset with pointed cups and a drop-waist, structured skirt. She accessorized with a pair of red platform sandals and heaps of Bvlgari jewelry.
Consider our loins girded.
