Etro creative director Marco De Vincenzo will exit after almost four years, the brand announced on March 12. A successor is yet to be announced.
The decision was reached by mutual agreement, according to Etro, which said in a Thursday release that the move “aligns with a new strategic phase for the brand”.
The news follows the founding family’s exit from the company after a group of investors led by Rams Global (alongside Mathias Facchini of Swinger International and Giulio Gallazzi via SRI Group) purchased the Etros’ minority stake in the brand in December 2025. Prior to this, in July 2021, L Catterton — which also has majority investments in Ganni, A.P.C, and more — acquired a majority stake in Etro, which it retains today. The brand’s CEO, Fabrizio Cardinali, was appointed in 2021 following the L Catterton acquisition.
De Vincenzo, who joined from Fendi in June 2022, revelled in Etro’s signature patterns and codes, leaning into the maximalism upon which the brand was built. Of his latest — and final — Fall/Winter 2026 collection, he told Vogue Runway: “Its bohemian side resurfaces, hyper-colored, maximalist, a little mad.”
Now, the brand owners are looking to a new direction. “Etro wishes to express its gratitude to Marco De Vincenzo for his dedication, professionalism, and creative contribution over the years, and extends its best wishes for his future projects,” per the release. “The maison now looks to the next developments with confidence, continuing its journey of enhancing its lifestyle identity and creative heritage, in continuity with the innovation and the values that have always distinguished it.”
