Is there a red carpet more fun—and mora dramatic—than the annual Met Gala?
On May 4, stars will arrive to the 2026 Met Gala wearing their best and boldest looks. It’s bound to be a custom and couture-filled night to remember. How will A-list guests interpret this year’s theme and dress code? Only time will tell, but one celebrity who’s bound to nail it on both counts is actor (and all around fashion superstar) Teyana Taylor.
Taylor—who will serve on the gala host committee this year—has attended the Met Gala five years in a row, so she’s had plenty of experience navigating the Met steps. Her first time attending the event was back in 2021, when she wore a silvery Prabal Gurung bra top and skirt with an extra-long train. The next year, she went more futuristic, opting for sculptural purple Iris van Herpen design—complete with a snake-like headpiece by House of Malakai. Quite simply, nobody brings the drama like Teyana Taylor.
More recently, in 2023, Taylor donned a tweed Thom Browne skirt suit that exposed the hipbones, while 2024 saw her slip into a shapely, rose-adorned gown by The Blonds. Nothing, however, could rival her 2025 Met Gala look, which responded to the “Tailored for You” dress code: she wore a custom-made zoot suit made by the legendary costume designer Ruth E. Carter. “I’m in suits even without it being a suit theme,” Taylor told Vogue of the look.
The star always understands the assignment—more than that, as her Met Gala look oeuvre shows, she’s a total fashion over-achiever. And something tells us her 2026 outfit will be one for the books. In anticipation of the grand event, look back at all of Teyana Taylor’s Met Gala red carpet looks below.
